George Joseph Innes, husband of Margaret (McAllister) Innes of Lower Newcastle, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, at the age of 74.
Born in Chatham, NB, on July 29, 1944, he was the son of the late Allan and Anna (Grant) Innes.
George was one of those people that everyone instantly liked.
His sense of humor and hearty laugh were always a bright spot.
He worked as an equipment operator for REPAP until his retirement and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
Besides his wife Margaret, he leaves behind his daughter Cathy (Andrew Brideau) of Lower Newcastle; his son Allan (Sarah) of White Rapids; one sister Maureen (David Matchett) of Lower Newcastle; one brother Ronnie Innes (Jane) of Ferry Road; three grandchildren Cameron and Robert Innes and Becca Brideau; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 11 am, from St Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Bartibogue, with Father Leon Creamer and Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating.
