George Harold David Graham
GEORGE HAROLD DAVID GRAHAM
George Harold Graham, 67, surrounded by love, passed away at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.
Born to George and Doris (Smith) Graham on March 21st, 1951, he was welcomed into the large loving and boisterous Smith family of Ostrea Lake. He lived in Dartmouth most of his childhood but truly enjoyed summers spent at Granny’s in Ostrea Lake, where he developed his lifelong love of the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
He graduated from vocational school as a welder and then followed a family tradition, becoming a proud loyal and lifelong member of Local 73 International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He rose through the ranks of the industrial construction industry to become a construction manager, working on and offshore throughout Canada and the United States, ending his career in the oilfields of Alberta.
George enjoyed summers at the cottage, a few months each winter in Mesa, Arizona, but his favourite place on earth was our home near Tatamagouche. He loved the “Chicken Ranch,” spending many happy enjoyable hours riding ATV’s with his grandkids, watching the wildlife, and raising chickens to give to family and friends.
He cherished his family. George was a kind strong and loving husband to Judy (nee Gillis), a very proud and supportive dad to George Jr. (Stephanie) and Tyler (Krissy), and their mother Connie. Stepchildren; Rick (Sarinthip) Oliver and Kelly (Dave) Wagner, sisters; Dorothy (Reg) Dooks, and Wanda Graham. The light and love of his life were his grandkids. He was Grampy to #1 Nathaniel, Madelyn, Brayden, Cohen, Avery, Ellie, Alex, Luke, Nick and Max. He will be missed by long time friend Lawrence Hafey as well as his loyal dog Laney.
Our family is forever grateful for the wonderful care and support from Dr. Rob Bush, Dr. Don Rowe, Dale and the staff of the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, the VON and the Chemo Team in Truro.
George is resting at the Atlantic Funeral Home in Dartmouth. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 1-3 pm with a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations in George’s memory may be made to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche.
