OBITUARY
George Arthur Lang
Lang, George MCSE, MCP, CNE, CNA (A+ and ITIL were in-progress)
1963 to 2018
Son of Muriel (Ron) and George (deceased); son-in-law to Denise and Russell (deceased); cherished husband to Cynthia; beloved sibling to Alice and Bill and to brothers-in-law Larry (Leah), Michael (Nicole) and Steven (Emily); uncle to eight nephews and nieces; and cousin to many, too numerous to name. George began his career in the electronics field. Then he formed his own construction company. Later, he studied and became a successful international IT Systems Analyst. He met and wed the love of his life and had a wonderful marriage with Cynthia. George was blessed with many talents, was skilled in various trades and had a variety of creative hobbies. He was extremely humble despite being quite a gifted individual. Because of the many hardships experienced earlier in his life, George’s philosophy was to embrace each day and to live it to its fullest; which he did with the support of his loving wife. George’s love for his family and friends was unlimited. He loved children, nature, and animals; and he was happiest doing outdoor activities with them. Words seem inadequate to describe the kind, loving, courageous, gentle, optimistic, brave, generous, strong and wonderful person that he was. His brilliant mind and caring personality will be truly missed. Thank you to the medical teams at the Ottawa Hospital, the Carefor nurses, and the Champlain LHIN staff.
Family and friends are invited to meet on Saturday, October 13th, 2018, between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, to share George’s life’s memories. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. (McEvoy-Shields can provide assistance with the donation process, if needed.)
