Passed away at the Village of Tansley Woods, in Burlington, on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Adele Marchese. Loving father of Vincenzo (late Wendy), Marc (Elaine), Dean and Richard Marchese. Proud nonno of Vincent, Adelia, Gennaro, Julia, Isidoro, Laura, Richard, Lily, Troy, Chynell and Courttney. Dear brother of Teresa (late Berto), late Giovani (late Rosa), Irene (late Emilio), and Filomena (late Ludek). Gennaro will also be missed by his brothers-in-law Frank (Carmen) (late Annamarie), Emil (Cynthia) and Tony (Audrey), as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gennaro spent his career working for Ford Motor Company. He was admired and respected by all his colleagues. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, and for the love of his family.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9. Vigil Prayers 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel, at Smith’s Funeral Home, on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10:30am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Reception will be held at The Lord Nelson (650 Plains Rd. E, Burlington). For those who wish and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gennaro to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family. www.smithsfh.com
