PETERSEN, Gail Barbara
Gail Petersen passed away, with her family by her side, on Thursday, October 04, 2018 at the age of 75 after a short battle with a respiratory illness.
Gail is survived by her mother Gwen Keele, husband Dave Frederickson, sons Kehl (Carolynn), Christopher (Tina) and daughter Kirsten Edwards (Stephen), Step-daughter Shannon, Step-son Fred and grandchildren Saige, Maya, Liam, Kiera, Tianna, Trew, Emily, Nicholas, Faye & Stella.
Gail was born in New Westminster on February 06, 1943 and with her parents moved around, as military families do, to Calgary, Trenton, and then Baden Germany where she completed her high school grade 13. In Baden, Gail met and married her first husband John Petersen. Gail and John moved to the Comox Valley with two more moves afterwards to Germany and New Brunswick and then once again to the place Gail always loved the most, the Comox Valley. Gail and Dave met in 1990 and have enjoyed the years living on the farm, camping and hosting many dinners and get-togethers.
Gail’s life included raising her family, being a bookkeeper, owning and operating a few businesses including building and running a motel & restaurant business. Gail had a keen eye for design and decorating and loved to paint. Gail was an amazing cook and exquisite host to many over the years. Gail loved her grandchildren immensely and spoiled them whenever possible.
Gail was bright, fun, caring and appreciated time with her many friends and family. We will miss our daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
The family would like to thank all the wonderfully caring and skillful staff at the ICU of the VI Comox Hospital. The family will be planning a small service for some time in the future.
