Frances Frankie Kathleen Staples 2018 avis de deces

Frankie passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 24, 2018. She will be greatly missed.
Born on September 20, 1939 to Tanner and Aileen Staples, she is survived by her daughter, Glenda Keohane (David); grandchildren, Siobhan, Ronan, and Neeve Keohane; her son, Greg Hasey; grandchildren, Ethan and Aida Hasey.
She grew up in Edmonton, where she attended Vic Composite High and then went on to graduate from Royal Alexandra Nursing School as a Registered Nurse. She married Peter Hasey and moved to a number of military bases during Peters enlistment in the Royal Canadian Air Force. When her husband left the forces, they relocated to Hay River, NWT where Frankie resumed her nursing career. During her time in the north, she became very involved in the community. She was asked to become a Justice of the Peace, becoming the first female JP in the North. She also became a judge of the juvenile court, a small business owner and the Director of the South Mackenzie Economic Development Committee.
When she left the north, she resumed a nursing career. Frankie chose to work in child psychiatry and carried this interest with her when she relocated to Victoria in 1986.
In Victoria, she was instrumental in developing and then managing the Outpatient Department at Jack Ledger House. She then took on the role of Director of Nursing for the Queen Alexandra Center for Children’s Health.
Retiring from that role in 1994, she remained an active member of her community, creating and maintaining many friendships through her entire life. So many of those friends made the time to come and visit her in her last months or reached out to send their love when they were unable to travel to Victoria. We are very thankful for their time and their love for Frankie.
The family would like to thank Hospice, Palliative Care, Drs Green, Geller, Jones and MacGregor, and the paramedics at BC Ambulance for their consideration and many kindnesses.
A celebration for Frankie’s life will take place in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Dr, Victoria, BC on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to Mackenzie Vet Services MexiCan Project or Victoria Hospice. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
