Evelyn Hamilton (Morris)
Evelyn May Hamilton (Morris) of Thedford was surrounded by her family at the Country Manor when she passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, just 4 days short of her 95th birthday. Evelyn was the loved wife of the late Franklin J. Hamilton and is lovingly remembered as the dear mother of Carole & Keith Wight of Strathroy, Robert & Linda Hamilton of Thedford, Connie & Clifford Clark of Forest and Anne & Allan McInnis of Thedford. The oldest of 5, Evelyn grew up with her siblings George† (Betty) Morris, Helen (Ed†) Kelly, Bernice† (Clayton†) Cable and Marjorie† (Wieger†) Miedema. Eveyln is missed by her 10 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren whom she cherished along with her many nieces and nephews. Evelyn is predeceased by her Great Grand daughter Sarah.
Following in the tradition of her father, Evelyn took on a position with Canada Post delivering mail. As a young mom of a 1 year old, Evelyn stood faithful and continued to deliver the mail on her route R.R.#3 for the next 40 years. Later, daughters Connie and Anne would also go on to work for Canada Post, carrying on the tradition into the next generation.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, June 9th from 2pm – 5pm at the Gilpin Funeral Chapel in Thedford.
A service celebrating the life and legacy of Evelyn will be conducted on Sunday June 10th at 2pm at the United Church in Thedford with Reverend Doug Wright officiating. Friends and family are invited to join as we commemorate what would be Evelyn’s 95th Birthday.
