Eva Maria Angerle
Born in Salzburg, Austria on January 22, 1936, Eva passed away June 11, 2018 – 3 AM.
Eva was 16 when she immigrated to Calgary. Eva moved to Vancouver Island, feeling at home in Ladysmith for the past several years. Her love of this community is reflected by the volume of friends who have been so supportive over the past several months. Each and every one of them the family thanks.
Eva will be missed by hers sons John and Garry and their spouses, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eva’s love for her husband Alf extended her family as if they were her own, who along with her volume of friends have many great memories.
Community was important to her and she spent many hours making each community she lived in a better place to be. As volunteer at the Austrian Canadian Cultural Center for many years she enjoyed volunteering, donating her art and attending the Vienna Ball.
Eva had many joys, from her plants and blooms or her love of cooking authentic dishes she loved to laugh. She collected pictures of her grandkids, and could tell you the story behind each picture. Family and friends were a large part of her life. She looked forward to yearly trips to Mexico with her friends and making new ones. She made friends everywhere she went, and remembered all of their names.
A service and reception to remember Eva will be held at the Eagles Hall in Ladysmith on Monday, June 18th from 1:30 to 4:00 PM.
The staff at the Palliative Care unit at the Nanaimo Region General hospital provided great care to Eva and her family. Thank you for your support and care of Eva, it means the world to the family.
