Obituary of Ernie Smith
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ernest John Smith announce his passing in his 78th year on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Friendly Manor Nursing Home in Deseronto. Survived by his brother Wayne Smith (Barbara) of Deseronto, his niece Patricia, nephews John (Lori Whitty) and Clinton Smith, great nieces Teigan Blight, Emma Tudor and Brieanne Smith and great nephews Brock and Alex Smith. Predeceased by an infant sister, his father Willie Smith (1979), his mother Olive (nee Kimmett) (2000), his nephew James (1974) and great niece Emily (2012). As per Ernie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Paul G. Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, Ontario K0H 2H0 (613-386-7373) on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 10:30 am. – 12 pm. A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Rev. Elaine Kellogg will follow at 12 p.m. Interment at Moscow Cemetery followed by a reception at the Moscow Friends Meeting Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friendly Manor Nursing Home or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
