Carrigan, Ernest
Earl- Age 85 years of Sand Point,
Guysborough Co. passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 in Guysborough
Memorial Hospital, Guysborough. Born in Sand Point, Earl was a son of
the late Lyle and Myrtle Carrigan. In Earl’s early years, he
cut pulp for a living and worked in the construction industry. He then
moved onto truck driving, with the purchase of his own trucks. Earl
worked as a courier driver until his retirement.
Earl leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 61 years,
Jessie (Welsh) Carrigan; his children, Rick, Edmonton, AB; Shelley
(Jerry Murphy), East Ohio, Ant. Co.; Karen (Billy Boyle),
Beauly, Ant. Co.; Chris (Melinda) Mulgrave; sisters, Doris,
Ina (George), Sharon (Ronald), Joyce; brothers, Ronald
(Betty), Harold, sister-in- law, Anne; grandchildren, Stephanie
(Doug), Bradley (Shannon), Keri (Chris), Whitney, Sheldon,
Shannon (Sheldon), Chelsey, Jennifer, Candace (Cameron), Kersten,
Bryden, Chad (Jennifer), Chrissinda (Mike), Bryce ; 16
great-grandchildren. Earl was predeceased by his daughters, Debi and
Betty Ann; sister, Mildred Carrigan and brother, Frank Carrigan;
niece, Patsy Lake; nephew, Wayne Lake;
A special thank you to Guysborough Memorial
Hospital’s Doctors and Nurses, home support, continuing care
and palliative care for the care shown to Earl. The family would also
like to thank all the doctors, Nurses and staff at St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital for the care that was given to
Earl and to Reverend Susan Slater.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held
at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Earl may be
made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital, Hadleyville Anglican Cemetery
Fund or St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford.
