Emily passed away peacefully with her two sons by her side at Gateby Care Centre in Vernon, BC.
Born in Monkman, Alberta, the first daughter of Nicholas and Helen Zablocki, Emily and her husband, Steve, spent a good portion of their lives raising their two sons in the Chilliwack area.
Emily was predeceased by her husband, Steve, in 2010 and one sister, Olga. She is survived by sons: Lawrence (Louise) of Vernon, and Jerry (Helen) of Quesnel; grandchildren: Lori (Kevin) Goodwin, Shane (Carlee) Melenko, and Jason (Sara) Melenko; great grandchildren: Thomas, Andrew and Christina Goodwin, Katelyn and Tessa Melenko, Ashley, Zachary and Tristin Melenko; sisters: Ann Edwards and Diane Wells; and one brother, Bill Zablocki, all of Alberta.
The family would like to thank Dr. Smart and Gateby 2nd Floor staff for their care of Emily and the kindness and compassion they showed to the family.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Father Peter Nguyen, Celebrant. Following the interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, a reception will be held in the tea room of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
