Obituary of Eleanor Hurren
It is with very sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eleanor (« Elly ») on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Elly’s strong will and admirable zest for everything life has to offer kept her going through her struggles with her health issues. Elly is survived and dearly missed by her beloved husband and partner for 67 years, Donald Hurren. Cherished mother of Brenda (Mark Hall), Lynda, Pam (Jeff Rees) and Julie (Rick Choppick) and best gramma ever to Lori, Jay and Jeff (Karlee), Troy and Megan, Robyn and Bradley, Robert and Jessica, and great-gramma to Aidan, Rhyanna and most recently Wesley. Predeceased by brother Robert (« Bert ») Allen and sister Marjorie (« Pudge ») Jordan. Elly worked for many years in the cafeteria at GDHS, played darts every Monday at the Legion, was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary but her greatest joy was getting together with the « Curvy » girls. Friends and family will be received at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Avenue, Georgetown, 905-877-3631, on Friday, October 19th at 11:00 am, followed by a service at 12:00 noon. A special thank you to Dr. Razvi for his compassionate care as well as the nursing staff at the Georgetown Hospital for all the care and support they gave to our mother. The family would appreciate any donations in Elly’s memory to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CASHH) in lieu of flowers.
