Eldred was born on July 15, 1936, in Cremona, Alberta, Eldred passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 24, 2018, at VGH.
He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 60 years, Winnie and his six children – Patricia, Beverly Shelley(Eric), Wendy Vaesen (Paul), Valerie Melanson (Dean), Janet (Earl) and Keith. He had 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Peter (Gloria) and his sisters Naomi, Sharon (Jim) and their families.
When Eldred was only 6 months old, the family moved to Victoria BC, and when he was about 6 years old they moved to an acreage in the Royal Oak area. It was there that he developed a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and bird watching in the area – activities that he enjoyed for the rest of his life. Eldred loved the Lord and spent many hours in prayer and Bible Study. He was always happy to share his insights with others and served faithfully in his church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Central Baptist Church, 833 Pandora Avenue on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 1:30 pm.
