Sandra Lynne Ekstrom, 69 years of age, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Kelowna General Hospital.
Lynne was born May 15, 1948 in Regina, Saskatchewan to the late Edward and Evelyn Shannon. She married Rodney Brian Ekstrom on February 3, 1968 in Atikokan, Ontario, recently celebrating 50 wonderful years together.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Nicole (Brad) Andersen and Corbett (Patrice) Ekstrom; grandchildren: Cole and Brooklyn Ruffle, Ocean Andersen, Kaden, Aliyah and Tasia Ekstrom; and her Mini Schnauzer Boo.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sisters Janet Shannon and Cathy (Ken) Reynolds, three brothers Alan (Sharon), Harvey and Jamie (Alana) Shannon, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Lynne, “Mom,” always put a smile on your face when she was in your presence. Her warmth, love and compassion were shown in every aspect of her life. She loved to talk and make sure everyone around her was comfortable and happy. The strength and perseverance she possessed to fight through her battle were remarkable and inspirational. Her beautiful soul will always be remembered.
Funeral services will be held at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC on Thursday April 12, 2018 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 5L3.
