Obituary for
Edward Joseph Camiel Wytinck
With heavy hearts and much sadness, the family of Edward Wytinck announces his peaceful passing.
Edward passed away on Sunday October 14, 2018 at the Brandon General Hospital, surrounded by family, at the age of 81.
Edward leaves to mourn his ten children: son Jamie (Joelle) and their children, Christian and Miguel, son Timothy (Sue) and his children Kyle, Ryley, Dylan and Shaelyn, son Robbie (Michelle) and their children Josh (Carly) and Zach, daughter Laurinda (Joe) Neyron and their children Shania and Janelle, daughter Francine (Karl) Cross, daughter Corinna (Thomas) McKee and their children Ceana and Thomas Jr., daughter Candis (Trent) Olmstead and their children Nathan, Tanner and Michaela, son Kevin (Stacy) and their children Leo and Rex, son Daniel (Robyn) and their children Tess and Nash, son Matthew (Kim) and their children Lilia and Eli.
Edward also leaves to mourn his two brothers, Don (Deborah) Wytinck, Herb (Bea) Wytinck and his sister Lillian (Maurice) Delichte and in-laws Alida Verstraeten, John and Agnes Simoens, Diane and Vic Labossiere, Ele and Reynold Bourdeaud’hui.
Edward was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Simoens), parents Isadore and Martha Wytinck, Father and Mother-in-law Leon and Catherine Simoens, Brother-in-law Albert Verstraeten, Nephews Lyle Wytinck and Tommy Labossiere, niece Lori Mangin and great nephew Orry Goddard.
Edward was born on June 25, 1937 at the family home on NW-02-06-13 in the Rural Municipality of Argyle and was the oldest child of Isadore and Martha Wytinck’s four children. He was educated at the Bru School and later studied agriculture at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Following his university studies, Edward married Margaret (Simoens) on July 12, 1960 at Bruxelles, Manitoba. Together they raised 10 children, and had 58 years together until Margaret’s passing earlier this year. Edward loved farming and even after moving to Cypress River in 2004, he continued to help his oldest son, Jamie, on the home farm, and was proud to be able to farm for 60 years.
Edward was a devoted husband and father and a man of unwavering faith. He enjoyed many things, his greatest joys involving family gatherings, playing cards and other games. He had a passion for watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays, curling and hockey.
Prayers will be held at Willmor Chapel in Glenboro, Mb at 7:30 pm on Thursday, October 18. 2018.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Alphonse, Manitoba on Friday, October 19th, 2018.
Eulogy at 10 am with Mass to follow at 1030 am. Overflow seating will be available at St. Alphonse Hall. Interment will take place at St. Alphonse Cemetery. Following the interment, a lunch reception will be held at Mariapolis Hall in Mariapolis, MB.
