« Eddie » MacArthur, long-time antique icon (Garrett’s
by the Bridge), of New Glasgow and Pine Tree, passed away peacefully
in the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital, at the age of 80,
after a short battle with cancer on November 23, 2018. Eddie was a son
of Christine « Jean » MacArthur and
« Angus » Edward MacArthur. He was predeceased by his
two younger brothers, Jimmy and Ronnie. Surviving are his four
sisters, Rose, Halifax; Sandra (Vernon) Beck, Oshawa, Ont; Patricia
(Norman) Lord, Little Harbour; Jean (Bill) Reid, New Glasgow;
sisters-in-law: Rose, Midland, Ont; Marcia, Vancouver, BC; and many
nieces and nephews. Visitation 3-7 pm Friday, in the R.H. Porter
Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral Mass 1 pm Saturday,
in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton, with Fr.
Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating.
