Dr. Shu Hyun Yoon
Yoon, Dr. Shu, age 89, of Dartmouth, passed away on May 30, 2018 peacefully, at home.
Born in Korea, he was a son of the late Yoon Young Sam and Suh Bok Ki.
Before moving to North America, he met the love of his life Suk Ho Chang in Korea. Dr. Yoon was an urologist at the Halifax Infirmary, Camp Hill, Dartmouth General Hospitals and in private practice for many years. He was an active member of the Halifax Korean Church and the Atlantic School of Theology. He was a published author with a constant pursuit of knowledge who always had time for a game of golf. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Dr. Yoon is survived by his sons, Dr. Robert “Bob” (Beverley) Yoon, Mass., USA, Michael (Sandra) Yoon, Mass., USA; grandchildren, Christopher, Stephanie, Jacob, Joshua, and Daniel; and many extended family members.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Suk; and his two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday June 5th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 1:30pm on Wednesday June 6th in the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Halifax Korean Church or the Atlantic School of Theology.
