Obituary for
Douglas Upshall
Peacefully, at Huronlea Home For The Aged, Brussels, Douglas Alexander Upshall passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018. In his 72 years among us, Doug’s life was shaped with the love of family, the camaraderie of friends and the blessings of rural life.
Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years Faye (née Nethercott) and their children Vicky Upshall (Ted), Kathy Upshall, Johnnie Upshall (Brandy) and Jamie Upshall. Cherishing memories of a special grandpa are grandchildren Doug Coleman, Kelsy Chapman, Jessica Upshall (Brad), Ashley Upshall (Kyle), Tyler Leslie, Brooke Ribey, Jax Upshall, Ali Upshall, Paige Upshall, Emily Upshall and great grandchildren Lane Hart, Myla Pollard, Silas and Isaac Coleman. Doug will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Joyce Nethercott, along with siblings and siblings-in-law Bob (Jeanette) Upshall, Elaine Harburn, Don (Betty) Upshall, Marg Upshall, Barry (Donna) Nethercott, Nancy Eaton, Joe (Jackie) Nethercott, Linda (Roger) Thomas, Eric (Wendy) Nethercott, Monica (Dave) Hoskin and Carol (Chris) Meyers and many nieces and nephews. Doug is predeceased by his parents James and Mary Jane (née McDougall) Upshall, his father-in-law Lloyd Nethercott, and siblings and siblings-in-law Grace (Wilmer) Adkins, Jack Upshall, Don Harburn and Harry Eaton.
Visitation will take place at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth (519-527-1390) on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to honour Doug’s life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Staffa Cemetery and a reception will follow at Seaforth Legion, Branch 156, 123 Main Street South, Seaforth.
