With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of an adored husband, devoted father figure, brother, uncle and friend on February 16th, 2018 at the age of 53. Doug leaves behind the love of his life, Karen (nee Bratt), and cherished children Elizabeth & Kyle, Madeline & Nelson and beloved pets Oliver & Peter. On top of being a family man and a great friend, Doug was a decorated veteran, accomplished marathon runner, golf enthusiast and dedicated Chicago Cubs fan. His happiest moments were shared around the table at weekly family dinners. By far, his most passionate hobby was exploring the world with his best friend and travel companion Karen. Doug was known by all as a compassionate and loving man who would go to great lengths for the people he knew. Doug kept no ego, and his family was the light of his life and the reason he got up every day.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Windsor Es County Humane Society.
