Dougald Conrad
1938-2018
CONRAD,
Dougald Clarence -80 of Lower Branch, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday August 8, 2018 at his home in lower Branch, surrounded by
his family. Born in Lower Branch, he was a son of the late Leslie and
Nina (Crouse) Conrad. He is survived by his children Jeffrey (Vicki)
at home, Karen (Brian), Turner Heights, Tina (Robbie), Cookville,
Shannon (Jason), Turner Heights and Sherrene, New Germany;
grandchildren Kyle, Jenna, Amanda, Andrew, Matthew, Melissa, Scott,
Nicole, Josee, Chloe, AJ and Griffin; several great-grandchildren;
nieces Barbara and Vicki. He was predeceased by his twin brother
Donald, sister-in-law Marilyn; nephews Gary and Blair. Dougald was a
hard worker and always there to lend a hand when needed. He worked in
the woods for a short period of time and then at Snyder’s
Plumbing and Heating, then ending his working days at the
Tops’l Tavern, where he was a bar tender and waiter. Dougald
loved to work with wood, whether it was his fire wood or building
something. He loved entertaining at the camp he built on Lake Mush
Mush, and will always be remembered for his planked salmon meals, or
card games, the more the merrier. In his last years, he spent his time
at home with his son Jeff and wife Vicki, watching TV or reminiscing
about years gone by. He will be missed by many. Graveside Service will
be held 11:00am Tuesday in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canada, Rev. Neil
McEwan Officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial Donations may be
made to the Lions Club, New Germany or West Northfield Fire
Department. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.A. Corkum
