Dorothy Isabel MacElmon
Dorothy passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Stratford General Hospital on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Born in Usborne Township on May 15, 1931, Dorothy Isabel (née Dalrymple, formerly Dietz) MacElmon of Seaforth, was in her 87th year.
Beloved wife of Arthur MacElmon for 46 years. Loving mother of Gary Dietz of Cambridge, step-mother of Robin MacElmon of Edmonton, Kelly Miller (Dan) of Kitchener, and mother-in-law of Glen Rowswell of London. Cherished grandma of Jennifer Thornton (Brad), Jonathan Dietz, Rob Steele (Kate), Jen Peacock (Mike Farwell), Bryan Miller (Danielle), Rebecca Miller (Scott Burns), Keri Morgan, Sean Morgan (Krista), and great-grandma of many. Also survived by her sisters Audrey Westlake of Seaforth, Lila Thompson (Lorne) of Clinton, and her sister-in-law Faye Dalrymple of Seaforth.
Predeceased by her first husband Harold Dietz, daughter Linda Carter, parents Garnet and Marie (née Squire) Dalrymple, daughter-in-law Barb Dietz, sister Marlene Hiusser (Laverne), brother Harold Dalrymple, and brother-in-law Jim Westlake.
Visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Sunday, April 29 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brodhagen, on Monday, April 30th at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall.
