Dora Hadley
Dora Hadley (nee Abramic), of Edmonton AB passed away on January 21, 2018 at the age of 92.
Dora is survived by her son, David Hadley; son-in-law Rick Corbett; grandchildren Jon Corbett (Kelly) of Kelowna, Amy Wedman (Gary) of Leduc; great grandchildren Jacob, Alexi and Lucas Corbett, Micah, Jocelyn and Zachary Wedman.
Dora was predeceased by her husband Charlie and daughter Sharon Corbett.
Dora was born in Wattfsord, Alberta on May 8, 1925 and spent her early years in Kaleland and McCrae. She moved to Edmonton as a young adult where she worked at the Silk Hat and met her husband Charlie. They were married June 22, 1946. They lived briefly in Red Deer and returned to Edmonton eventually settling in the Capilano area to raise their family. Dora worked as a cook at the Silk Hat for over 35 years and would often be found in the kitchen preparing meals for the many family gatherings hosted at the Hadley home. Her talent in crochet and knitting was shared with family and friends alike creating afghans, baby blankets, table cloths, hats and socks to be happily given as gifts or donated. She was a generous woman with her time and spent much of her life caring for others. Dora will be sadly missed by the many friends and family that her life touched.
Honouring Doras’ wishes, no formal service will be held. Those wishing to share in her memory are invited to a gathering at Doras’ home on Sunday, February 4th, from 1 to 4 PM. Please contact Amy at amyctiny@hotmail.com for more details.
