Chris passed away peacefully at Castlegar, British Columbia on July 31, 2018 at the age of 89. Loving husband of Carrie (Cousins), brother of Alexandra (Sandy) Bellis, father of Cindy, Judy (Peter), Dan (Karen) and David (Janice) grandfather of Jay, Vaughan, Lucas, Jessica, Dale, Todd, Jennifer and Erin, great-grandfather of Ada and Brooklyn. Chris cherished his family, whether his relatives back in the old country, his children or his grandchildren, especially the babies.
Born in the village of Vumbel in Greece of Macedonian heritage, Chris arrived by ship as a young boy with his mother, Mita and brother Kosta to reunite with his father George in Toronto. A graduate of University of Toronto Schools (1949) and University of Toronto Medical School (1956), Chris practiced Family Medicine in Scarborough, Ontario for 32 years. Chris and Carrie married during his first year of medical school and happily celebrated 65 years together.
Chris was an active sportsman and traveler. You could find Chris racing his Standardbreds, playing tennis or skiing with his family and golfing or playing bridge with his wife and friends. In retirement, Chris and Carrie enjoyed traveling to more than 30 countries, including lesser known parts of the world.
