Gone but not forgotten…David Hughes of Belledune passed away peacefully at the George Dumont Hospital in Moncton at the age of 59. Although a less than average life span, David did not lead an average life. He travelled where he wanted to travel, laughed inappropriately at every chance and loved who he wanted to love. He drank heartily from the chalice of life and he was proud of that.
Born in Brantford, Ontario, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Ross) Hughes, who were both originally from Prince Edward Island. He always thought of himself as being from both places, a maritimer at heart. He lived most of his life in Ontario but 9 years ago he achieved two life long goals living by the shore and climbing to the top of his work goal ladder and he became the C.A.O. for the Village of Belledune.
David is survived by his wife Paula; sons Hayden and Devon Hughes of New Zealand; stepsons Devon Higgins of Niagara Falls and Colton Bailey of Belledune as well as his stepdaughter Alexa Bailey of St. John, NB.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Darryl.
There will be no funeral service at this time. A celebration of life is to be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de David Hughes January 12 1959 June 9 2018 (age 59).source
