Darlene Hartness
Hartness: Darlene Grace Hartness. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Darlene passed away peacefully on April 27, 2018 in the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon with her daughters by her side. Darlene was born May 27, 1934 on the family farm south of White Bear, SK, the second child of Lennox and Violet Draper. Darlene married John Hartness on November 21, 1951. They lived and farmed south of Lacadena. Darlene remained on the farm until the time of her passing. Darlene enjoyed farm life and was an avid gardener and took great pride in her yard. She enjoyed singing and playing music with her friend Bev Dick. She was an active member of the Clytha Ladies Club, Lacadena Farm Women’s Club and the Zion Lutheran Church. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved showing and teaching them about rural life. She was predeceased by her husband John Hartness, parents Lennox and Violet Draper, Sister Beverly Taylor, Brother Lyle Draper, mother and father-in-law Jack and Annie Hartness, brother-in-law Jim Hartness and sisters-in-law, Kathy Moreside and Jane Hartness. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Linda (Dennis) Graves of Kelowna, B.C.; Joanne Schuler (Dallas Boyer) of Silton, Sk.; Grandchildren Ryan (Kerry) Harvey of Edmonton, Ab. Staci (Tanner) Cooper of Kelowna, B.C., Steven (Mandy) Schuler of Calgary, Ab., Christopher (Leigh) Schuler of Calgary, Ab.; her very special great grandchildren, Erin and Lilah Harvey, Kameryn and Lauren Schuler, Jack, Luke and Daniel Schuler and Lochlan Cooper; Brother Don (Della) Draper of Medicine Hat, Ab., Sister-in-law Myrt Draper of Cranbrook, B.C., Brothers-in-law Don Hartness of Terrace, B.C., Reg Hartness of Rosetown, Sk., Rolland Moreside of Kyle, Sk and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm from Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. The Interment Service took place at the Horse Butte Cemetery. Darlene will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
