Obituary Overview
Dale L. Nelson
It is with a heavy heart I announce that Dale Laverne Nelson,64, of Parkridge
Centre, Saskatoon, passed away on May 31st, 2018 peacefully in his sister’s
arms. There aren’t enough words to describe how precious this man was, but I will try.
Dale had an infectious smile and a warm, loving spirit. He was always happy and
enjoyed singing. He enjoyed visits from all « his women », especially his favorite girls Tasha and Shannon.
Dale was a devoted big brother. I remember coming home from school in grade one and
telling him I got 100% on my spelling test. He would give me the tightest hugs.
He was patient and listened to my endless Mr.Mugs and Clifford stories.
From a very young age I learned how to be Dale’s DJ. His love for music made many
smile. His ability to learn the lyrics instantly amazed many people. Country
songs were his favorites but he also would surprise me by knowing the lyrics to
Air Supply, Trooper and Streetheart songs.
Dale LOVED Christmas. He was born on December 1st so we made it a tradition to begin
decorating that day. Thanks to a special angel Dale’s room was Christmassy when
he passed.
Everyone who knew Dale knew he loved cheering on our Roughriders. He enjoyed attending
the Rider training camp. I will never forget the huge smile on his face when I
brought him a sticker signed by Kory Sheets.
Another thing Dale loved was A&W rootbeer, burgers and popcorn twists.
In June 2014 Dale met his new best friend that later he proudly called, Brother.
Dale and Darryl had a very special bond. It was true brotherly love.
A very special thank-you to Dale’s family of 22 years at Parkridge. He loved you
dearly. Another huge thankyou is to PRC Computer Program. This allowed us to
skype weekly.
Dale had a chosen family that visited often while he was at PRC. They were there
with him until the end. The daily visits meant so very much. Thankyou! You know
who you are.
We will miss our best friend and brother. We love you, always and forever.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Dale Nelson 2018.source
