Clifford A. Wollum
February 18, 1938 – January 26, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Clifford Allen Wollum announces his passing, on Friday January 26, 2018 at the age of 79 years.
Clifford was predeceased by his wife Rose after 52 years of marriage, son Leslie,
parents Oscar and Sylvia and brother Melvin.
Clifford will be lovingly remembered by his son Doug and his wife Stacey, grandsons Connor and Katon and brother Floyd and his wife Bridget and extended family and friends.
Clifford was born on February 18, 1938 at Rio Grande Alberta. He was the second of three boys, and spent his early years at the homestead on the banks of the Red Willow river near Rio Grande, Alberta. The family moved to Wembley in 1950 and Clifford left school a few years later. He worked various jobs until he gained employment with Hanson and Reynolds Logging were he was employed for several years.
During this time Clifford met Rose and the two were married on June 28, 1964. Cliff and Rose had two sons, Leslie, who was born in 1965 and Doug who was born in 1969.
The family lived in Wembley and Grande Prairie before moving to Grimshaw in 1970 to build homes with the Tissington family. Clifford remained in Grimshaw for the rest of his life as he continued to work as a carpenter and a mechanic.
Clifford had many different skills and was a deliberate thinker. Before he did anything new he would ponder the issue, make a plan, and execute the plan to do it right the first time. Clifford was a man of few words but was interesting in conversation if you knew to ask him open ended questions. Ask him yes/no questions and that is what you would get. Clifford really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Connor and Katon whom he adored.
Clifford was a gentle man who always did what he could to help others and will be greatly missed by all those that knew him.
