Cecile
« Sis » Edna Lipscombe, 100, passed away peacefully with her
family by her side on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Dr. Georges-L.
Dumont University Hospital Centre. She was born on August 29, 1917 in
Ste Rose du Lac, Manitoba, the daughter of the late George and
Elizabeth (Rampling) Wright.
As a child, Cecile moved with
her family to London, Ontario where she grew up and married the love
of her life, Ernest « Roy » Lipscombe. Together they raised
three sons, Gary, Paul and David. Cecile worked at McCormick Biscuits,
Eatons and London Life. She had strong faith in God, and attended and
served faithfully at Central Baptist Church in London. In 1996, Roy
and Cecile moved to Moncton to be closer to family and spend time with
their grandchildren. They were members of Highfield Baptist Church. In
2009, Cecile moved into Golden Years
Estates.
Cecile will be greatly missed by her sons Paul (Jim)
of London, Ontario, David (Shelley) of Moncton, daughter in law Jeanne
(Gary) Lipscombe of Rothesay, and sister Kathleen (Ron) Craven of
Stratford, Ontario. Cecile was loved and cherished by her
grandchildren Grant (Ann) of Rothesay, Derek (Doris) and Andrea
Lipscombe of Riverview, Allison (Kevin) Doiron of Quispamsis, and
Bethany (Matthew) Robertson of Moncton. She will be missed by her
great grandchildren Kayla, Kristyn, Tyler, Breanna and Lauren
Walchuck, Georgia Lipscombe, Grace, Chloe, Amelia and Kayden Doiron.
Cecile will also be missed by her two great great grandchildren Finn
and Ivy Atkinson.
Besides her parents, Cecile was predeceased by her
husband Roy, son Gary, brothers Don, Norm and Les Wright, and sister
Iris Campbell.
The family wishes to thank the amazing staff of
Golden Years Estates and the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Georges
L. Dumont Hospital for the excellent care they provided Cecile. They
showed great kindness and compassion to both Cecile and her
family.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives on
Friday July 6, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Fergusons Funeral Home,
1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) followed immediately by a
Service to celebrate and honour Cecile’s life in Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Lindsay Taylor and Rev. Greg
Sparkes officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre
following the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial
Gardens.
