It is with sad hearts and wonderful memories that we announce the passing of Catherine Marie “Sis” Fischer of Mayerthorpe, Alberta. Sis passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly, at the age of 86 years.
Sis will be forever remembered and deeply loved by her children, Wayne (Wendy) Fischer and Deloris (Pete) Rizzoli; treasured grandchildren Troy (Tara) Fischer and daughters Bryce (Dawson) and Branna, Shawn (Jennifer) Fischer and son, Hardy, Leanna (Curtis) Feser and son Keaton, and Dale (Orlene) Rizzoli and children Layne and Tolson; and brother Jim Loughran. Sis will also be remembered by Allie (Linda) Haug and children Morgan, Kolbey and Lyrik as well as her very special nieces and nephews and their families.
Sis was pre-deceased by her true love, Leo (2017), grandson-in-law Mark Hagman (2008) and special niece Diane Wigley (2018).
Mayerthorpe was where Sis met her soulmate, fell in love and chose to raise her family. She was passionate about making her house a home and took great pride in their cattle, horses and beautiful yard. She loved travelling, shopping with the girls, making memories with her family and spending time with neighbors and friends. Her generous, kind heart and genuine personality were simply contagious.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at the Mayerthorpe Extendicare, who took such wonderful care of our beloved Sis. The compassion, patience and love shown to her will never be forgotten.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mayerthorpe Diamond Centre (4814 54 st.). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Extendicare Mayerthorpe Resident Council or a charity of your choice.
