OBITUARY
Caroline Beverly MacNicol
December 23, 1940 – July 26, 2018
Carol MacNicol (Cucheran/Popilchak) passed away peacefully July 26, 2018 at Creekside Landing with her daughter Lori by her side in the quiet of her room. She was blessed to have her son David, son-in-law Todd and her brother Mike close by.
Carol was born December 23, 1940 to Michael and Emily Cucheran in Vernon. In recent years as Mom’s memory was failing, she was asked if she would like to move to Taber to be closer to her daughter; however, Vernon was home and this is where she chose to stay.
She is survived by her son David Popilchak of Vernon and his children Hannah and Carly; daughter Lori (Todd) MacKenzie of Taber, AB and their children Raeann (Colby); Ty (Courtney) and their son Benson; brother Mike (Anna) Cucheran and their children Christine and Rob and families; daughter-in-law Helen Popilchak; several nieces and nephews, family friend Judy Johnson and her very dear friend Barb Rhodes.
Mom was a hard worker, had a strong will and nothing was more important to her than her Family and her Grandchildren. She loved gardening and flowers, crossword puzzles, making perogies and having large family dinners, outings with Barb or Lori which always included tea and a treat.
The saddest times in her life were the loss of her son Wayne, her nephew Donny, her sister Pearl, and her parents.
She moved to Creekside Landing as her dementia progressed, and was well known for her « determined and independent » personality. A special thank you to Dr. Gilhooly and to each and every staff member at Creekside for the special care provided to Mom.
The family has planned a private celebration of Mom’s life. In honour of mom, if anyone wishes, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society of BC.
