Obituary of Carmelita Gleason (nee Downey)
Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke, Ontario on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the age of 94 years old. She will be remembered for her spunk, enthusiasm and her sense of humour. Predeceased by her loving husband Percy James Gleason. Adored and loved mother of 10 children; Lorna, Lorraine (Steve Carroll), Larry (Nancy Lapierre), Mary (Steve Adams), Maureen (Barry Stitt), Jean (Emile Lebel), Elizabeth (Alex Jennings), Patricia (Hugh O’Neill), Peter (Karen Shea) and Janet (Roddy Morris). Cherished grandmother of 30 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Resting at the Hayes Funeral Home, 56 St. Jacques Street, Chapeau, Quebec on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul the Hermit Church, Sheenboro Quebec on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment Parish Cemetery. Reception will follow in the community hall. Donations to the Sheenboro Memorial Fund, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
