Camilla Brown
1942-2018
Mary Camilla Brown 76 of Seal Cove, Grand Manan passed away
at the Grand Manan Hospital Wednesday morning May
2nd, 2018. Born in Black Point she
was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Deveau.
Camilla spent many years as a cook at the Marathon Hotel,
Grand Manan Nursing Home and the Grand Manan
Hospital. After her retirement she worked for several years
as a Home Care Worker. Camilla was a devoted member of the
Castalia Baptist Church. She loved camping at the Anchorage
Park and Dark Harbour with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 3 daughters Bethanie Brown (Grand
Manan), Tammy Cook (PEI), Shonda Calder (Bucky Zwicker) (Saint John);
5 sons Tracey Green (Virginia)Ontario, Trent Green (Saint John),
Beverly Green (Saint John), Andrew Brown (Yarmouth), and John Green
(Alberta). Two sisters , Reesa Brotheton (Alberta) and
Daphne Foote (Pennfield). Three brothers Eric Guthrie (Saint
John) and Mark Guthrie (Saint John) and Sterling Mercier
(Michigan). There are 22 grandchildren, 12 great
grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Camilla was pre-deceased by her first husband Malcolm Green
and her second husband Royce Brown. Pre-deceased by daughter
Holly Green in 2012, son Shane Green in 1998, and her brothers Stuart
and Clarence Guthrie, her sister Hannah (Sterling)
Mullen.
A memorial service will be held on May 10, 2018 at the
Castalia Baptist Church at 1:30 pm, Pastor Ruth Fair-Parker
officiating.
