April 19,
1942 ~ December 5, 2018
MacDONALD
(MacCormack), Camilla Ann « Millie »
– Port Hawkesbury, passed away suddenly on Wednesday,
December 5, 2018, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Millie
was born and raised in Port Hawkesbury.
Prior to her marriage, she worked for many years as a switch
board operator in Port Hawkesbury. Millie and her husband Al lived in
Windsor, Pictou and Cleveland and in Millie’s later years,
she and Debbie lived in Port Hawkesbury. Millie loved to bake as many
of her cousins can attest. She loved Cape Breton music and totally
enjoyed every ceilidh she attended. She had a great sense of humor and
could be depended on to come back with a witty comment or two. Millie
was always ready to lend a helping hand to both family and
friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie; sister, Kaye;
sister-in-law, Ann; brothers-in-law, Sterling and Ian. Millie is also
survived by special friends, Patsy MacNeil and Steve Brown as well as
Leah and Mya MacDonald, special family members who were always close
to her heart. Millie was predeceased by her parents, Angus and Cassie
(Steele) MacCormack; husband, Albert Angus MacDonald; sisters,
Patricia (in infancy), Mamie, Rita; brothers, Johnny, Steele, Hugh
Martin, Roddie and Angus MacCormack.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m.
Saturday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with
Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial in the parish
cemetery.
Since Millie was one to show compassion to those less
fortunate, donations in her memory to the Port Hawkesbury Food Bank
would be greatly appreciated or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or
a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of
comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
