DeMONT, CALVIN, Garnet-Dartmouth- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Calvin DeMont on Saturday August 11, 2018 at Dartmouth General Hospital. In Dad’s younger years he was a boxer and later became the owner of our family business “Bob’s Taxi”. In the 80’s he served his community as an Alderman for Ward 4 on Dartmouth City Council, where he formed many lasting friendships. Dad loved playing bridge and enjoyed his membership at Bridge World for many years. His first love was our mother, his wife of 60 years Mildred “Millie” (predeceased him on August 3, 2017). We would like to express a special thank you to the nurses of 3-West at Dartmouth General Hospital, their care and compassion was greatly appreciated. Memorial donations may be made to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 18 at Stairs Memorial United Church, 44 Hester Street, Dartmouth. Rev. Sarah Reaburn, officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
