VODDEN, Betty
The dynamic, ready for anything Betty Vodden passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5 on what would have been the birthday of her beloved late husband Jack. At the age of 100, she had outlived her dear sisters Maud Verrall, Gladys Teasdale, Laura Coulter, and her brother Bertram Coath, as well as her niece and life-long friend Margaret Pearce. She was also predeceased by her adored son Bruce. She leaves her daughters Kathy and Christy and her daughter-in-law Claire to mourn, as well as her grandson Matthew Boyle, her dear friend Sue Wickett, and the Eakins family. Betty had a long full life and loved her work careers: pre-children with Dodd’s Kidney Pills, and once the children were off at school with the Ontario Probation Service. An active volunteer with Lambton Kingsway School and Kingsway Lambton United Church, she also found time to fundraise for the Canadian Cancer Society. A private family interment will be held at a future date. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada. A special thank you to the caring staff at the Harmony Hills Care Community who helped her through her journey with dementia.
