Betty Louise Huntley
1960-2018
Betty Louise Huntley –
58, of Centreville, Kings County, passed away Saturday, September 15,
2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of Calvin Strickland, Kentville
and the late Joan (Harvey) Arenburg. She had been employed with
Hostess Foods for many years and later with Maple Leaf Poultry for
nine years. Betty was a loving daughter, wonderful sister, devoted
wife and a proud mother and grandmother. She always welcomed friends
and family into her home. Betty enjoyed craft shows, dinner with
friends and travelling and visiting with her family throughout the
Maritimes. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband
of 38 years, Larry; three daughters, Shannon Huntley (Doug Croft),
Kentville; Sarah Huntley, Kentville; Tasha Huntley (BJ Hunt),
Centreville; four sisters, Trena Ells (Roger Smith), Cambridge; Maxine
(Vincent) Coleman, Steam Mill; Rhonda Strickland (Trevor Gillam),
Labrador City, NL; Delores (David) Morris, Truro; two brothers, Terry
(Carmie) Strickland, New Minas; Rickey Strickland, Sheffield Mills;
six grandchildren, Madison, Dillon, Allison, Emily, Gemma and Brycen;
four brothers-in-law, Kenny (Agnes) Huntley, Weymouth; Blaine (Jean)
Huntley, New Minas; Eugene (Paula) Huntley, Kentville; Dale (Connie)
Huntley, Sheffield Mills; many special nieces and nephews. In addition
to her mother, she was predeceased by a niece, Destiny Strickland; a
nephew, Brandon Strickland; a brother-in-law, Wayne (Corrine) Huntley.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville, where a celebration of Betty’s life will be held
at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018. Burial will take place in
the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in memory
may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation. Funeral arrangements
have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Kentville.
