Bertha Elizabeth Simpkin (Hermiston)
Simpkin, Bertha Elizabeth – The family announces with sorrow the death of Mrs Bertha Simpkin at the age of 81 years. Mrs Simpkin passed away at Tri Town Extendicare Nursing Home, Thursday, December 20, 2018 following a long illness.
Born September 13, 1937 at Harley Township to the late George Hermiston and the late Lois Sharman. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, her husband John Simpkin and her brothers: Edward [and his late wife Madeline] and Stan Hermiston. Left to mourn are her children: Patricia [Mike] Evans of King Kirkland, Stephen [Star] Simpkin of Long Lake, Debbie [Patrick] Rumball of Porquis Junction and Kevin [Samantha] Simpkin of Nipissing. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Travis, Vienna, Patrick, Alexander and Spencer. Also left to mourn are her brothers: Danny and Ron Hermiston and her sister-in-law Dorothy [Andy] Poupore.
The Simpkin family will welcome friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held from the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Monday, December 24, 2018 at 11:00 am. Reverend Sherry De Jonge officiating. Spring interment will take place at Pioneer Cemetery in New Liskeard,.Memorial contributiosn to the Canadian Mental Health Association will be gratefully acknowledged.
