– of Truro and formerly of Guysborough, age 95. Passed away peacefully
on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 in Milford Haven Home for Special Care,
Guysborough, Benny, as her friends knew her, was born on April
2nd, 1922 to George and Liza (Ryan) Murphy of
Fox Island.
Benny enjoyed an active life golfing, curling, cross country
skiing, and swimming until the age of 92. Benny also loved to play
cribbage; bridge, 45’s, scrabble, and do puzzles.
Benny’s family meant everything to her. She was a very proud
mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother.
Surviving are her daughter, Carolyne Hadley, Port Stanley,
Ont.; sons ,Shawn (Diane) Hadley, Guysborough; Gerry Hadley, Truro;
Bevin (AnnaLee) Hadley, Toronto, Ont.; William
(Barbara) Hadley, Guysborough; son-in-law, Jim Gray,
Blenheim, Ont.; step-son, Ian (Janice) Sinclair, Truro;
step-daughters, Wendy MacKenzie and Zoe Lindsay; grandchildren,
Kimberly (Vincent) Neary, Karen Hadley, Philip (Sherry) Hadley,
Jeffery (Keri) Hadley, Adam (Sarah) Hadley, Lauren Sinclair, and
Rachel Sinclair, great-grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Harvey,
Benjamin, and many nieces and nephews.
Benny was predeceased by her parents, George and Liza Murphy;
1st.husband, Harvey Hadley;
2nd.husband, Frank Sinclair; son, Theadore
Hadley; daughter, Donna Gray; brothers, Reginald, Patrick, Hughie,
Wilfred, and Emmett Murphy; sisters, Irene Gillis, Anna Septon, and
Eva Richards.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to
Dr. Ranjini for her wonderful care and the friendly, wonderful, caring
staff at Milford Haven Home for Special Care for their great care and
friendship.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by
request. Memorial Service will take place 11 a.m. Monday, Feb.19 in
Saint Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Guysborough with Father
Callistus Abazie officiating. Family flowers only please. Memorial
donations in Benny’s memory may be made to Milford Haven
Home for Special Care, Guysborough.
