Barbara A Bustin
1930-2018
Barbara A. Bustin,
née Smith, at York Care Center on June
21st, in her
87th year.
She grew up on her father’s farm in Smithtown, Kings County,
and left at 17 to teach school for a year on Darling’s
Island. From there she graduated
from the S.J.G. School of Nursing and nursed at the General for
several years. Mom had a varied professional life: nursed with the
Victorian Order of Nurses, sold real estate; received her credentials
for property appraisal; had her own real estate company and art
gallery; worked for the province of New Brunswick as a property
appraiser, then with the Board of Management as a classification
officer and finally retired from conducting labour relations
negotiations.
Barb is
deeply regretted by her daughter, Jessica (Robert H. Cockburn) of
Fredericton and her son Brent, of Saint John. She is predeceased by
her son Paul and husband, David M. Lunney.
Our mother was devoted to her cats and dogs-especially
her standard poodles-and her garden. She enjoyed traveling in New
England and throughout
Great-Britain.

staff at Birch Grove, York Care Center for their kind and
compassionate care. Donations to the SPCA, Friends of York Care Center
or other charity would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be
held July 6th from
2pm-4pm at McAdam’s Funeral Home.
