Obituary of Athan McEwen
It is with profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our son, Athan Kyriakos McEwen. He had a zest for life but was taken from us too soon on Friday, June 22, 2018. Athan is survived by his father Sean McEwen (Brittany); mother Sophie Maroudis (Arnie); siblings, Alexia, Athena, Jade (Tanner) and Chace (Michaela); grandma Gail McEwen; uncles, Mihail Maroudis (Jen) and Kim McEwen; god parents Tom and Effie Liagridonis; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Bill Horton and Charles and Athena Maroudis. We would like to thank the Regina Police Service, Regina EMS, Regina Firefighters, and the General Hospital Trauma Team for the tremendous care and attention he received. Celebration of Life and Prayers for friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave., Regina, SK, on Friday June 29, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. Traditional Orthodox Funeral Service for family will be held at Saint Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Rd., Regina, SK, on Saturday June 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers we kindly ask a donation be made to the Athan McEwen Scholarship Fund to follow.
