Arthur « Art » M. Hayden
1925-2018
Arthur « Art » M. Hayden, 92,
of Moncton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on
Saturday, May 12, 2018.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the
late Merton and Dorothy (Estabrooks) Hayden.
Art was retired from Shell Oil,
Canadian Oil (White Rose), Irving and was a former operator of
Dad’s Family Store on St. George Blvd. He was a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was very active in
all aspects of church activities. His hobbies included music, he loved
to play the guitar and sing, he enjoyed art, and socializing with his
friends and spending time with his family. He was an avid genealogist
and loved helping others search out their ancestors.
Art will be sadly missed by his
children, Joy Boyce (Glendon) of Riverview, Wendy Trevors (Wesley) of
Miramichi, Randall Hayden (Lynn) of Calgary, AB and Lori McKinley
(Craig) of Salisbury; 17 grandchildren, Sara, Jessi, Meghan, Deanne,
Leigh, Erin, Brian, Cole, Dean, Sean, Amanda, Jason, Cory, Eric, Rick,
Jamie and Samantha, several great grandchildren, and one great great
grandson, as well as several nieces and nephews. Also, by his special
friend, Helen Lutes of Moncton. He was the last surviving member of
his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by his wife, Mary E. (Allen) Hayden (2000); sons, Brian
(1960) and Gary (2011); brothers, Aubrey, Charles and Donald and
sister, Marie.
Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home,
1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints, 2070 Mountain Road on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 am.
Reception following the service in the church hall. Interment will be
in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John on Wednesday, May 16, 2018
at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in
memory of Art to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Oncology) would
