Anthony Kushnier
Peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the age of 86, Tony went to be with the Lord and his wife Pauline.
Tony will be sadly missed by his children Wayne, Mike (Liz), Kevin, Kim (Dale); granddaughter Chantelle; and sisters Elcie and Irene (Larry). He was predeceased by his wife Pauline in 2015; his parents Teena and Mike; brother Mickey; brother-in-law Steve; and grandson Landon.
Tony was born April 21, 1932 in Kreuzburg, MB, now known as Fraserwood. In his younger days Tony enjoyed playing Pool and Bowling. Most of all he enjoyed his little garden in his yard and going to pick blueberries, strawberries, and pat pan ky mushrooms. He loved his tomatoes; six tomato plants were never enough for him. He always wanted more. Even though we knew he couldn’t eat all of them.
He was employed with Pepsi in his younger years and then retired from McMillan and Bathurst.
Tony also enjoyed going to church on Sundays and valued the lasting friendships that were made. Fridays were the highlight of his week when he would meet with his coffee buddies and they would always make him smile and laugh. Tony was an avid sports fan. If it was on TV he would be watching it or going to a Jets game. He also travelled to the U.S.A. and England.
He fought cancer for over five years, and also suffered from Dementia.
Tony will be fondly remembered by all his family and friends. We miss and love you so much Dad. We know you aren’t in any more pain and that you are with Mom. We try to remember this so it eases the pain for a moment. Only a moment!
Thanks to all the homecare staff that helped us each and every day and also to the staff at Riverview Health Centre that made Tony comfortable in his last weeks.
