Anne L. Parrett
1926-2018
It is with sadness we announce the
passing of Anne Louise Parrett, age 91,
of Amherst, NS. Anne passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018
at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in Rocklin, NS, she was a daughter
of the late John and Annie (Marshall) Robinson.
Anne graduated in 1946 from the Maritime
Business College, New Glasgow and after graduating, taught there for
two years before moving to Halifax and Amherst.
She was involved in community affairs
for many years, was past president and treasurer of the Kinette Club,
past secretary of the Amherst Golf Club and the Ladies Curling Club. A
member of Trinity St. Stephen’s United Church, she was past president
and secretary of Unit 5 and three years on Church Council. She was
also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, and was presented with a Life
Membership and beneficiaries of appreciation for working at the
Highland Fling for 25 years, as well as a member of the Northumberland
Golf and Country Club in Pugwash.
She will be dearly missed by her
daughter Jo-Ann (Corey) Sigut, Amherst; grandchildren Craig
(Lorie), Aberdeen, Scotland and Kelly (Dennis) Beardsley, Amherst;
great grandsons Matthew and Marcas, Sigut, both in Aberdeen Scotland
and great granddaughter Faye Beardsley, Amherst.
She was predeceased by her husband
Vernon; sisters Mary, Freda and Delma, brothers Herbert, Norris, Jack,
William, Clarence and Thomas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). The funeral service will
take place at Furlong~Jones Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18, 2018
at 11 am. Burial will follow in the Amherst
Cemetery.

Shelter.
