WILK, Anna Zusana (nee Schütz)
With great sadness we announce the passing of Anna Wilk at age 89 on September 1, 2018 at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke, Hamilton. Loving wife of 66 years to Helmut. Devoted mother to Barbara (Jim) Ridge and Nancy (Perri) Chapman. Proud Oma to Andrew and Darren Chapman. Pre-deceased by her parents, siblings, niece and sister-in-laws. Dearest Aunt of Günter Schütz, Edward (Celia) and Kurt (Kim) Lipsky. Great Aunt to Rainer Schütz, Matthew (Emily), Justin, Nathaniel, Trevor and Hannah Lipsky. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends.
Born in Busovce, Czechoslovakia she was always curious, loved music, nature and was devoted to her family, friends and church. She was creative, working with her hands, sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, preserving, baking and at the age 14 started her trade as a hairdresser/barber. In 1955 she became a Canadian Citizen in Hamilton and worked at Sovereign Pottery. She was a long-standing member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamilton. We thank the nurses and staff of Aspen Terrace for their exceptional care and support in her final days.
Visitation will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by funeral service in the chapel, then reception, with interment at Grove Cemetery, 129 ½ York Road, Dundas.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamilton or Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated. We Love You and Will Miss You Anna/Mom/Oma.
May You Rest in Peace.
