Ambrose Casey Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ambrose Casey announce his passing on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 82.
A stevedore for the NBIP in Dalhousie for 33 years, Ambrose was happiest spending time with his family and friends, helping others and working around his yard. He enjoyed practical jokes, coffee with his friends, good meals, and Johnny Cash and Hank Snow recordings.
Ambrose will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Gloria (LeTourneau), his daughter Krista Casey-Smith (Curry), and grandson Spencer. Ambrose will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Eileen Laliberte (John dec.), Shirley LeBlanc (Edmund dec.), Mary Lou Casey (Gary) and Rita Horvitch; his brother Clifford (Vinola); his sisters-in-law Olive Phillips (Maurice dec.), Violet Tuck (Earl dec.), Eleanor Valente (Marico), and Jean MacGaghey (John dec.); brothers-in-law Donald (Mariza dec.), David (Anne), and Kevin (Lucille); and numerous nieces and nephews. Ambrose was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Mildred; sisters Bertha Norton (William dec.), Edith Pendergrast (dec.), and Olive Casey; his brothers Walter (Gen dec.), George (Ruby dec.), Arthur (Annette dec.), Leo, and Gerald; his sisters-in-law Eva Durlo, Christine Gallant dec. (Joe); and brothers-in-law Bernie (Rose), Alvin (Helen dec.), and Ralph (Georgette).
A Funeral Service in memory of Ambrose will be held on Thursday, June 7, at 11:00 a.m., at Saint John Bosco Catholic Church, in Dalhousie, with Father Keith Goldrup officiating. A reception will be held afterwards at the Lions Club.
A special, heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. J.C. Quintal and the nurses of Extramural and Palliative Care for their wonderful care of Ambrose. His final days were peaceful and without pain due to their efforts.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Ambrose to the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation or Parkinson Canada.
