Alvin Malomet
Peacefully, on Friday, May 11, 2018, just short of his 86th birthday. Beloved husband of Diana. Devoted father of Rhonda, the late Jacob, and Eliot (Kim). Cherished zayde of Yaakov, Naama, Maayan, and Elisheva. Wonderful brother of Edie Malomet Maslow (Don) and the late Sylvia Lang. Dear brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Born in Montreal, graduate of Baron Byng (’49) and McGill (B.Eng ’56). A lively kibitzer, a great sport, Al will be remembered and missed as a hearty, gregarious character who left an indelible mark on the city of Ottawa with his many buildings. Special thanks to his dedicated caregivers, David Langlois, Caroline Snell, Anne Morris, Nihal Zekralla, and Hillel Lodge who gave him dignity and kindness in his final years. Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue, on Sunday, May 13, at 1p.m. Interment to follow at the Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank Street. Shiva details below.
