Allison C. MacMillan
The death of Allison Chalmers MacMillan of Bathurst, NB. occurred August 26, 2018 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 95. He was born in Black Point, NB. the son of the late Nathaniel and Eva (Chalmers) MacMillan.
Being the last surviving member of his family, he was predeceased by his brothers Robert (R.J.) of Buffalo, NY. and Lloyd of Black Point; sisters Margaret Jack Lemarquand, Isobel Bond, Muriel Burbridge, Harriet Stratton, Gladys Black as well as his nephew Larry Jack. He is survived by sister-in-law Jean MacMillan of Digby NS., nephews Jim MacMillan (Gwen) of Black Point,and Lloyd Burbridge (Dawn) of BC.; nieces Elizabeth Earl (Alan) of BC., Alison Mangione (John) of Florida, Marilyn Bush (Greg) of Buffalo, NY.,Carolyn Doiron (Doug) of Aurora, ON., Sheila Jack (late Larry) of Riverview, NB. as well as their families.
After serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force & attending Dalhousie University, he was employed with Bathurst Pulp and Paper in Bathurst until 1969 when he was transferred to Montreal retiring in 1969. He was a member of Bathurst Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst Curling Club, Kent Foundation, Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club, Bathurst Masonic Lodge, as well as Luxor Temple of Shriners Club in Saint John. His most prized accomplishment was that he was a member of the Nepisiquit River Salmon Lodge when he received the honour of being a member for over 75 years.
His funeral will be held at the First United Church in Bathurst on Thursday, August 28, 2018 at 2 PM. with internment in the New Mills Protestant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chaleur United Church 23249 Rte 134, Nash Creek, NB. E8G 1B8 or New Mills Protestant Cemetery
Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
