Alice Yourchenko
Suddenly, on July 12, 2018, Alice passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Alice was born on the family farm, December 17, 1938. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Martha, her husband of 44 years, Peter Sr., sisters, Margaret, Nell, and Lottie, brothers, Danny, Robert and George.
Alice will be loving remembered by her children, Sharon, Cindy (Rob), Peter Jr. (Mary Ann), grandchildren, Brent, Michelle (Brent), Kevin, Jeff, Riley, Tyler, Brady, great granddaughter Elizabeth
She will also be missed by her many other relatives and friends.
Alice worked for the Bank of Montreal for 37 years, up to her retirement in 1992. After retiring as a Branch Manager, she returned to the Bank of Montreal for another 5 years in a less demanding position.
During her retirement she enjoyed many lunches with fellow retirees, as well as numerous casino trips with her close friend Joy.
Alice became a Gramma at the young age of 43, giving her the opportunity to enjoy many years with her grandchildren, and great grandchild, ranging in age from 37 to 2. There were many sleepovers, card games and sporting events, all of which were dearly cherished experiences.
She loved to offer support to her children and her grandchildren in every way that she could.
She loved crosswords, reading and knitting. She most recently supported her granddaughter in her handmade clothing business, knitting beautiful, highly sought-after toques.
The family would like to thank the Seven Oaks Hospital staff for their care and compassion over the past few months. As an outpatient who recently, started dialysis, she always had praise for those at the Kidney Foundation. We would also like to thank her Home Care workers and dear friends at Carriage House.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. Interment and refreshments will follow at Glen Eden.
Flowers and cards are appreciated. Alternately, donations can be made in Alice’s memory to the Kidney Foundation.
