OLIPANI, ALFONSO – Our family is heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our loving father, grandfather, great – grandfather, uncle and a friend to many. He left us to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2018, at University Hospital in London, Ontario, at the age of 90 years old. Loving father of Rose Richardson and her husband James of Sarnia, Israel and his wife Luz Olipani of San Jose, California, and Jovito Olipani and his wife Narda of the Philippines. Cherished by his nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, (one on the way) and many nieces and nephews around the globe. Predeceased by his wife Mary, his sisters Lourdes and Leonila, and his brother Samuel. Alfonso enjoyed tagging along with his family and friends travelling to places all over Canada and Mexico to watch his granddaughter Jovie in her gymnastics competitions. Jovie competed for Canada and for the Sarnia Bluewater Gymnastics. She made her grandfather very happy and he was very proud of her! Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Bluewater Health in Sarnia and the doctors and nurses at University Hospital (CCU) in London who attended to him. A funeral service will be held from the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (102 Victoria Street, North, Sarnia) on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with visiting from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends to follow at the Church of Christ on Michigan Ave. and Errol Road after the graveside service.
