It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Albert Wilson Bateman announces his sudden passing at his residence in Port aux Basques, NL on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at the age of 78 years. Born in West Point, NL. Albert was the son of the late Alan and Elizabeth (Hattie) Bateman (nee Farrell). He was also predeceased by his wife Mary Bateman (nee Spencer); brothers-in-law Nelson Sheaves and William Frampton
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving partner of 32 years Evelyn Neil; sons Paul, Shawn; brothers and sisters Junior (Sheila) Bateman, Melvin (Edwina) Bateman, Evelyn Sheaves, Hazel Frampton, Jean (Albert) Walters; grandchildren Dakota Bateman, Nicholas Bateman, Aaron Neil; step-sons and daughters Dave (Sandra), Cathy (Brian), Claudine, Corenna (William), Darrell (Sandra); step-grandchildren Kelly (Michael), Katrina (Ryan), Damian, Ryan, Tyler (Jillian), Joshua; nieces and nephews Jason, Allan (Collette), Rick (Theresa) Roland (Cindy), Barbara, Bobby (Michelle), Christine (Philip) Debbie, Wendy, and Holly plus a large circle of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. (downtown location) in Channel-Port aux Basques, NL. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 26th, 2018 at 2 pm at the Wesley United Church in Port aux Basques, NL officiated by The Rev. Patricia Ritchie with interment to follow at Wesley United Cemetery, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Albert’s memory can be made to the Wesley United Church.
